Abstract
One of the most promising uses of extragalactic gravitational lenses is as probes of the distribution of dark matter in the universe. Some recent results and the prospects for future measurements of dark matter distributions in the halos of individual galaxies, associated with rich clusters of galaxies, distributed inhomogeneously as large scale structure on ~ 1–100 Mpc scales and contributing to the overall mean density of the universe on the Hubble scale itself, are briefly reviewed.
